I found a single serving size version of this item in Surfas, a wholesale styled restaurant and culinary food supply warehouse in Culver City, California. Stainless lid and all - identical except for size. I love the clean lines, and even more I love the fact that it's made of stain-free borosilicate laboratory glass which is not noted here. It's tough stuff.

I wanted the larger size, but while Surfas carries this same item there under a different name, it's almost impossible to get hold of them, and shipping would add to the cost. It was impractical..

The Teavana Camellia Cylindre Glass Tea Maker was a tad too expensive. I put it in my favorites and waited to see if it went on sale. I added it to my Amazon list on CamelCamelCamel and noted what I was willing to pay and waited but received no emails announcing a sale.

Then I visited a Teavanna Store at a mall to purchase teas, and there it was, 25% off, one day only! And the store was about to close in minutes - I was the last customer of the day. I couldn't resist. I bought it on the spot and while I've seen complaints that it's glass and doesn't hold the heat, that's not a problem for me. I suspect the borosilicate laboratory glass holds more heat than regular glass.

I brew up a pot for two and steep a nice oolong for 3 minutes and it's hot I'm ready to pour.

Now I have one for a single cupper and one for up to three. Very nice.

Update: I broke it. Hit it against the faucet while washing it. :(
