I bought this to replace my similar Quiktrip mug which I broke. I've had other similar mugs in the past. Compared to those, it keeps things cold very noticeably LESS. If you only need something to hold a lot of beverage and keep it cold for a short time, it's just fine. But I like to keep water cold for several hours...sometimes next to the bed overnight, sometimes in the car for long periods, etc. If you'd rather have more insulation, pick one up from one of the major gas station chains.
