These cups were purchased for everyday use, and specifically for a tea party for my 8 year old and her friends. The cups and saucers arrived in about a week. They arrived in perfect shape, and I was pleased to realize that although these cups were made in China it is stamped right on the bottom that they are lead free, a big plus, especially at this price point. These cups are daintier than a coffee cup, but larger than an espresso cup, there is no mistaking that they are meant for tea. They will work very well with my everyday porcelain teapot, sugar and creamer, and at this price, I will not be too upset if one ends up broken at my daughter's tea party. I have already run this set(I purchased 6) through the dishwasher, and had no problems. The only drawback was the shipping, it was a little over $6 to ship them, and after my purchase I found similar teacups at a local chain store for a similar price, however, the fact that they are lead free, and of superior quality to the other teacups (thicker and heavier)leaves me with no regrets. I am very pleased.
