I bought this teapot locally at a specialty tea shop. It was up on a high shelf and i didn't know the price until they rung it up. After all the effort to get it down i just decided to suck it up and buy it. I'm very glad i did because normally i would have turned away after seeing the price tag.

First of all the fact that it is insulated is a huge deal. If you have formica counter tops, or any other surfaces that could be ruined with heat, this is the perfect thing for you. You can make a full pot and not worry about a trivet or any kind of coaster. Also the pot never gets hot to the touch, and the tea stays warm for a very long time.

The integrated infuser is genius. The fact that you can just pour some water in and plunge it when you are done, is awesome. You don't have to worry about another plate to put the teabag or separate infuser because it is all self-contained.

My only warning (and this has nothing to do with the teapot itself) is to hand wash the glass pot. For some reason i get really bad streaking inside the pot when i clean it in the dishwasher. I can't tell if it is being etched or it is just residue. Either way it is impossible to get off.

These design touches seem like such little things but i never realized how big of a deal they were until i had to go to an office and make tea without the tools i was used to at home. I have broken many teapots (clumsiness) so the upside is that i get to try different ones often. I have yet to break this one though. This teapot is the best one i have owned and would buy another in a second.
