Each Moonscape Mugs holds about 14 ounces (medium), and is about 4 (height) by 4 inches wide. There is a multitude of colors swirled together. Each piece is a handmade slip cast from our artist's original hand thrown piece, then glazed (inside) and fired to Cone 9 (Durable Stoneware). As with all hand painted pottery, the color may vary slightly from piece to piece. Each mug is lead-free and microwave/dishwasher/oven/food safe. let me preface my remarks by saying this mug is VERY well made and of the highest craftsmanship possible. Having said that, the mug I received after ordering this item looked completely different from the one pictured here on amazon. It was predominately dark blue, with some black and a trace of burgundy on it. Granted, handmade pottery varies greatly between pieces, but I didn't think the color combination that I received was even a possibility. Anyhow, if you don't care about the color then order this mug because it is really well made. I contacted the seller and they were super professional, polite, and ready to work something out. However, I am leaving this review at three stars because I believe the product pictured is greatly misrepresentative. I realize they mentioned product variation in the description, but the mug I received looked like another item all together. Check the picture I added for verification.
