One day last year friends were discussing tines on forks. I know ....and have no idea why either . they agreed that while you could not find anywhere three tined forks that historically and esthetically forks should be 3 tined .My sister recalled that I had ONE such fork and shared this with them.Not knowing where I got it ,I was of no help. Now I look at forks everywhere (everywhere I happen to be that is,I'm not Albert Shwitzer)I realize whenever I want to find something, Amazon has it ,so.... They have several moderately to higher priced three tined forks . The ones I chose, you see before you, were a great deal and a match for the one I have. I can not tell you if forks were meant to be three tined but I really prefer these forks .
