These attractively shaped, very thin, very small plates work very well for a few specific purposes. They are 3 inches square. The flat part is 1.5 inches, with a slight upward curve edge accounting for the other 1.5 inches. The picture appears to have a larger flat center. I think you would need to plan on whatever you are putting in them not being larger than 2 inches if it does not need a flat surface, or 1.5 inches if it does. A square of something drizzled in something would look pretty, if that makes sense.

If you have a variety of small appetizers to set out at a meet and greet type event, these will work well. They are great for tasting plates. Some ideas I have thought of for them are: A couple large (or one very large) shrimp in some cocktail sauce, or heavier desserts like cheesecake or truffles. I also have considered using them for a small square of chocolate tort coated in chocolate ganache with a dollop of cherry preserves on top.

They are thin enough to be able to store them in a small space. They are inexpensive enough so that if your guests throw them away, it won't break the bank, although it won't help the environment much either. They are sturdy enough to wash and reuse a few times. I don't know yet how they will hold up to scratches. They are too small to put in my dishwasher.

They look a little like glass, at first glance. On some of them you can see a blemish on one edge, where they were probably broken apart in the manufacturing process.

So in summary, for a large crowd with lots of different foods to taste and explore these work great. For a small dinner party where you want to offer a smaller portioned dessert scattered on an attractive platter, they work equally well. I am glad I purchased them.
